14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Museumstrasse: Another tram exiled to Arad in 2008 was this 1962 GT6, another obtained originally from Bielefeld. I photographed it in Arad soon after, so this must have been its last full year in Innsbruck service. All the city trams are now replaced with low-floor cars.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Hauptbahnhof: Duewag GT6 tram #35 loads at Innsbruck Railway Station. This tram was built for Bielefeld in Germany in 1957 and came here in 1892 - like many Austrian trams, it was quickly snapped up when it was replaced with newer rolling stock and is now a regular performer at the famous German Tram Museum (Arad), where nothing is ever thrown away.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Bergisel remise: Inside the depot is this Duewag GT6, one of the very few city trams still in the standard Innsbruck red and cream livery, which always looks very smart on these cars. This wasn`t to last, however, as within a very short time the tram reappeared in advertising colours, like most others in the city.

15 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – Maria-Theresien-Strasse. 2008 was the last year that trams used this main street – when I visited in 2007, the trolleybuses had just finished, too. Now, the classic Innsbruck trams are also being replaced by new low-floor vehicles. Ex-Bielefeld car 39 was one of the few city trams to keep its original IVB paint scheme.

6 june 2009 - Innsbruck, przystanek Tummelplatz na specyficznej "szóstce". Na linii jeździ jeden wóz i tego dnia to był duewag. Pewnie niedługą duewagi znikną z 6 - trasa przygotowywana jest pod wozy dwukierunkowe.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – Maria Theresien Strasse. There have been major changes in Innsbruck over the past two years. The trolleybuses are gone, also many of these classic Deuwag trams, which are being replaced by new Bombardier low-floor vehicles. I believe that trams don’t now travel along this street, either.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Muhlsee: Back to the woods - a Route 6 service tram runs its lonely path through the massive pines on the way from Igls back to Innsbruck. It is hardly surprising that Line 6 only operates in the summer months (and even then, with just one tram every hour), for not many passengers live in the trees!

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Muhlsee: Another amazing tram route from Innsbruck is the very scenic Igls line 6, shown here with Duewag car #53 calling at Muhlsee, a little halt in the mountains. Line 6 only offers an hourly service and runs just in the summer months, the area often being under deep snow in winter. This 1962 tram originally came here from Bielefeld in Germany, worked in Innsbruck until 2008 and was then taken back to Bielefeld as a museum piece.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Igls: Deuwag #53 stands at the far terminus of the Innsbrucker Mittelgebirgsbahn alongside Plasser & Theurer track maintenance equipment #22, which is probably a very useful tool, fully equipped to work for lengthy periods out in the mountains on these isolated lines. Igls has a very attractive little station, but this is only served during the summer months, when the line is open for business.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, Austria – Muhlsee. Never get off a tram here unless you fancy a long wait! Muhlsee is a little halt on the way to Igls on the scenic Line 6. Except at peak times, just one tram runs an hourly service on this line, which is only open during the summer months.
