31 december 2013 - Farmoor, Eynsham Road. This service is normally operated by smaller Optare Solo type vehicles in standard fleet livery, but one journey each day is scheduled to operate with a double-deck vehicle which is not required in it`s usual S1 service during off-peak periods.

17 october 2013 - B4044, Swinford, nr. Farmoor. A sunny day view of the River Thames, which at the time of posting is now completely flooded. The fields you see here are now like lakes after weeks of prolonged rainfall in the area.

23 february 2014 - Stagecoach Depot, Corn Street, Witney. Although similar to another photo I have posted the light here I really liked as it allowed the headlamps to be fully lit without creating too much glare. I wanted to take advantage of having full access to the depot before my employment ceased!

23 february 2014 - Stagecoach Bus Depot, Corn St, Witney. Puddles everywhere: this about sums up the UK recently, but this puddle has nothing to do with our nations long tradition of rain! Being near the bus wash, this part of the depot often gets wet and I think used to good effect in this shot.

17 october 2013 - Eynsham, Swinford Toll Bridge. This route is regularly driven by myself, and is served by 17 identical vehicles which pass over this very old, picturesque bridge up to once every 10 minutes. The bridge is narrow and frequently congested in peak hours, though the tolls are cheap: a whole 5 pence for cars!

11 april 2010 - Cobham, Surrey (UK). UK bus travel gets sexier all the time - this is one of the new Enviros for a high quality service in the Oxford area. It even has on-board WiFi, so TWB users can upload their pictures of the bus as they actually travel on it - how cool is that?

23 february 2014 - Carterton Road, Brize Norton. Carterton is home to the UK`s largest Royal Air Force base, named after the nearby village of Brize Norton. This is about the best shot available of a plane and bus together unfortunately, but something I wanted to document all the same.

The depot is confined to quite a small space, and manoeuvring buses in the dark and with wet mirrors after being through the wash potentially leads to damage, hence why this post is protected with old tires and provided a contrast to this photo as nightfall pulled its veil over town.

30 december 2013 - A40, Barnard Gate. nr. Witney. One of a number of vehicles in the Stagecoach Oxfordshire fleet especially branded for high quality "Gold" services. They feature high-back leather seats and free WiFi. This vehicle is permanently allocated to the S1 and S2 services, operated by Witney depot along with 16 other identical vehicles.

23 february 2014 - Main Road, Curbridge. During the week the S1 serves Curbridge once every 30 minutes, but on Sundays Curbridge is served once every 20 minutes making it a much easier day to get some photographs here.

Stagecoach reserve the `Gold` brand for longer routes that generate high revenues and where a high-quality brand will attract passengers. The county of Oxfordshire is a very affluent area, and thus the brand works well and 5 routes in Oxford operate with these vehicles. Most are detail-branded for specific routes, but in order to provide cover for any route should one vehicle be unavailable for use there are 3 that carry generic `Oxford` branding, such as this example.
