4 september 2010 - Nürnberg (DE) – Omnibusbetriebshof Schweinau. The diesel engine in the rear of electrobus #998, which drives a generator for electrical power. Was this bus a success? Well, I don’t think Neoplan built another one……

4 september 2010 - Nürnberg (DE) – Omnibusbetriebshof Schweinau. Several historic buses are housed in the main Nürnberg city bus depot, including this rather odd-looking Neoplan N411DE of 1998. This is a prototype diesel-electric bus, designed to operate in city centres. If you half-close your eyes, you would think it is a trolleybus (which it almost is, as racks of electrical batteries are fitted underneath – only the trolley poles are missing).
