Miał on być jedną z aren Mundialu 2018; tramwaj mógłby wówczas robić za główny środek między stadionem, centrum a dworcem. No ale jak już obecnie wiemy, z problemami przewozu kibiców latem 2018 będą się mierzyć władze Kaliningradu czy Samary, a nie Sheffield czy Manchesteru.
