19 march 2011 - Torino (IT) - Via Pietro Micca. Up near the castle – the building in the background is the city museum. This is one of the trams created to match an earlier series, which were built from 1930s Peter Witt components, and which are now being withdrawn. This series probably won’t last much longer, either.

these cars are getting new fully enclosed cabs and will last many more years in Torino. GTT is looking to purchase 10-11 new low floor cars in the near future but mass withdrawals of the 2800/2900 cars is not going to happen in the next 10 years or so. Indeed if line 18 would re-open today there would be shortage of cars (specially as 4 2800 cars have been repainted green and are used on new line 7).
