12 september 2018 - Novopolotsk, Belarus - tram depot: Today, some photos of ths isolated system in the far north-west of Belarus, built in 1974 as part of the Soviet policy to transport large numbers of workers to unpleasant industries, well away from housing. In this case, the objective is a big chemical works. The original fleet of trams supplied when the system opened included #45, shown here at the depot. These trams are now principally used for worker transport only at shift change times and stand idle the rest of the day.
