1 august 2004 - Gotha, Germany - betriebshof/zajezdnia Waltershauser Strasse: One of several double-ended Duewag trams used mostly on the short shuttle service of Line 4 to Waltershausen. This 1962-built tram came originally from Bochum in 1995 and lasted in service until quite recently. It shows the unusual destination of Sundhausen, a short working part-way along the Thuringerwaldbahn.

20 may 2005 - Waltershausen, near Gotha. Double-ended GT6 on the short Friedrichroda to Waltershausen shuttle service that links with the Thuringerwaldbahn. This was the last regular Deuwag operation on the Gotha system.

20 may 2005 - Waltershausen, near Gotha. I didn’t manage to post this photo yesterday. Double ended Deuwag 528 almost looks like a model as it creeps between back gardens near Waltershausen Bahnhof. This part of Line 4 is a short shuttle service, meeting main line trams at the aptly-named Gleisdreieck (literally, ‘triangular junction’ – which it is).
