7 september 2008 - Mannheim, Germany – Edigen OEG. A beautiful Deuwag-type ‘Grossraumwagen’ in historic OEG livery. Several of these still survive but are not now required for normal service as they have been replaced by newer low-floor cars.

7 september 2008 - Mannheim (DE) – Neckartor. The old OEG was a wonderful line –it’s now fully absorbed into the regional tramway network, so the distinction is becoming blurred. Some memories remain, however, like this lovely ‘grossraumwagen’ kept for special duties. Built by Waggonfabrik Rastatt , this is a double-ended car – note the unusual sliding doors and the three headlights (required by German law for interurban tramways).

7 september 2008 - Mannheim (DE) – bahnhof Edingen. A control desk in car #71 – neat and functional, with everything close at hand. These trams were designed to haul trailers, so are very quick.
