3 may 1992 - Brighton, Sussex, UK - Madiera Drive. The annual Historic Commercial Vehicle rally ends in a display on the seafront at Brighton, where this rare Gilford coach is seen in 1992. Gilford buses and coaches were quite popular in the 1920s and 30s, but the company vanished without trace after World War 2. Most had American Lycoming petrol engines, but this one proudly displays that is is fitted with a Gardner (UK) diesel engine.

3 may 1992 - Crawley, Sussex, UK. Another view of the preserved Gilford AS6 at the midway rest point of the HCVS rally. This is probably the only Gilford coach running today, although various others exist and are awaiting restoration. This was a typical country coach of 1930s Britain.
