24 may 1963 - Kassel (DE) – zajezdnia/depot Wilhelmshohe. This type of tram is called in English ‘two rooms and a bath’ and was tried in several places, often by connecting two old 4-wheeled trams with a small, suspended central section and fitting a new body, to try and get a few more years of service from the old equipment. These rebuilds didn’t rid very well and were slow - when modern Duewags came along, they quickly became obsolete. These cars for Kassel were built new by the local Crede company, however, and lasted in service until 1986. It’s now in the Amsterdam (NL) tramway museum, of all places. (Photo: Ing. G Gerlach)
