12 june 2009 - Gent (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Gentbrugge. Hands up, all those who think this is a trolleybus? I think you would lose the bet. In fact, this was never a trolleybus - it’s the Gent wire-greasing vehicle whish ran at night to lubricate the overhead wires. It began life in 1973 as bus #06 with the Gent operator MIVG and was taken over by deLijn as their bus #8500. In 1989 the trolley poles were added to make this diesel-powered works vehicle.

12 june 2009 - Gent (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Gentbrugge. Another view of the Gent ‘pretend’ trolleybus, which still wears the original MIVG livery of blue and white. Even from this angle, you might still think it was a trolleybus with a fake radiator grille.
