Instead of having to walk, from 1966, Zürich Airport passengers were able to ride to the waiting aircraft in a specially developed apron bus. The unusual design in the form of semitrailer is based on the need for the lowest possible overall height. The tractor unit, a petrol-driven American Ford C700 has a six-speed automatic transmission and is conspicuous for the low driver’s cab. The semi-trailer, a monocoque construction by the Zürich coachbuilder Hänni, could carry up to 86 passengers. The absence of drive components in the trailer also enabled it to be kept remarkably low and allowed it to be manoeuvred safely between the aircraft. Zamiast chodzić pieszo, pasażerowie lotniska w Zurychu mogli od 1966 podjechać do samolotu specjalnie skonstruowanym autobusem lotniskowym. Niezwykły wygląd zewnętrzny jest spowodowany potrzebą możliwego obniżenia średniej wysokości pojazdu. Ciągnik, benzynowy amerykański Ford C700 posiadał sześciostopniową automatyczną skrzynię biegów i był znany ze względu na swoją niską kabinę kierowcy. Przyczepa, zbudowana przez zuryskiego producenta Hänni na nadwoziu samonośnym mogła zabrać do 86 pasażerów. Brak elementów sterujących umożliwił jej bycie zauważalnie niską oraz ułatwił łatwe manewrowanie pomiędzy samolotami. Statt zu Fuss gehen zu müssen, durften die Passagiere des Flughafens Zürich ab 1966 mit einem eigens entwickelten Vorfeldbus zu den bereitstehenden Flugzeugen fahren. Die ungewönliche Konstruktion als Sattelschlepper beruht auf der Suche nach einer möglichst geringen Bauhöhe. Die Schleppmaschine, ein benzinbetriebener amerikanischer Ford C700, verfügt über einer 6-Stufen-Getriebeautomaten und fällt durch die niedrige Führerkabine auf. Der Auflieger, eine selbsttragende Konstruktion des Zürcher Carrosseriewerkes Hänni, bot 86 Passagieren Platz. Durch den Wegfall von Antriebskompontenten im Anhänger ist auch dieser auffallend niedrieg gehalten und erlaubte ein sicheres Manövrieren zwischen den Flugzeugen.
