9 august 2011 - Krishna Chandra Road, Bandra, Mumbai. Time for some more of India. This is a typical BEST bus. BEST (Brinahmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport) is a city-owned monopolist responsible for electricity and buses. This structure is - of course - anachronistic. BEST was initially a tram company, which sold surplus electricity to private users. In time they built the city electricity grid and ditched the trams (in 1964), briefly experimenting with trolleybuses. Wikipedia even has a picture of a right-hand-drive Skoda 9Tr HERE.
