9 september 2008 - Frankfurt am Main, Germany – Eckenheimer Landstrasse. The Frankfurt U-Bahn has developed into a full grown Metro system of seven routes, running underground through the city centre. Here on Line U5, however, it still pretends to be a normal tram in the street and stops in the middle of the road for passengers, then races down into the central subways. These older Ptb (“premetro”) Type cars are of narrow profile and have steps that extend outwards and down to ground level.
