19 march 1963 - Schwyz (CH) – Bahnhofstrasse. From a box of (I think) unpublished photos of the 1950s and 1960s in my collection, here is a stunning view of the little metre gauge tramway in Schwyz, near Zurich, that operated 1900-1963. This picture of car #2 heading for the SBB railway station was taken just before closure and nothing now remains – how I wish I’d seen it. Many lovely lines in Switzerland and Germany are gone, so I’m happy to show one or two historic pictures here once in a while - if TWB users are interested? If not, I’ll stick with modern stuff……..
