TB Standard #1259

26 may 2022 - Bruksela, Tervuren Station. Istnieje kilka zachowanych egzemplarzy tego typu, ten konkretny został przywrócony do stanu z początku eksploatacji. Doczepa numer 29 pochodzi z roku 1910 i ponoć nosi przezwisko "stojak na tosty".

STIB 9000 Series #9079

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Rue Theodore Verhaegen: 1960s museum 4-wheeler #9079 runs down the hill from Barriere towards Gare du Midi. Ths photo isn`t crooked - the hill here is quite steep! I don`t know how good are the brakes on this vehicle, but it doesn`t have much motor power, being simply a 1930s Standard tram underneath the modern-looking bodywork.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Barriere St Gilles: Here, museum tram #4032 has reached the celebrated Barriere roundabout on a Line 81 centenary journey. The track layout here is remarkable - trams coming up the hill from the direction of Gare du Midi and needing to turn right into Park Lane must make a 450 degree turn, as the angle is just too sharp.

TB Standard #1376

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel, Avenue Paul Dejaer: Tram 1376 again, seen near Barriere. These Standard trams are quite well represented in the STIB Museum, there being three examples - #1376 has been left in as-withdrawn condition. Apart from these museum cars, one or two more Standard trams survive as works cars of various types.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Avenue de la Chasse: Another museum tram running as part of the Line 81 centenary celebrations was this 9000-series 4-wheeler. These trams were built in the STIB workshops using the underframes of 1930s Standard cars mounted on modern, PCC-style bodies. They weren`t very successful, lasting in service only a few years until better vehicles came along - in particular, they were extremely noisy on curves because of having only two azles.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Avenue Victor Jacobs: Car #4032 again on a journey from Montgomery to the city centre on the day that Line 81 was celebrated with the special operation of historic trams. This vehicle was part of a small series built in the STIB workshops in the 1960s, using the frames of two old 1930s trams and new bodywork. They weren`t very successful, being slow and noisy, so were withdrawn in the early 1970s.

TB Standard #1064

1 may 2014 - Bruksela - Merode. Napisałbym, że był to całkiem udany, weekendowy wypad, ale nie mam porównania. Pierwszego dnia nawinął się w każdym razie taki historyczny skład.

TB Standard #59

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Brusselsesteenweg. Standards #55 and #59 pass one another on the way to Tervuren. Normal passenger trams had to take a back seat during the celebration parade.

TB Standard #55

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. A busy moment during the parade, as another 1930s Standard conversion runs among normal service trams on the long forest line to Tervuren. This line seems to have limitless power supplies and can support countless trams, all moving at once! The overhead wire is also rather special, being suitable for pantographs, trolley poles or bow collectors without restriction, so older trams from the Museum get regular outings.

TB Standard #7

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. The amazing Transport Museum at Wolowe depot can always be relied on to put on a good show when operations shut down for the winter. This year, one special event was a very interesting parade of works cars, both from the Museum and from those still used by the tramway operator (STIB), including some which had not run for some years. Here is tram #7, converted from a 1930s Brussels Standard tram in 1970 and still used by STIB as a tow car.

TB Standard #1609

25 march 2012 - Brussel/Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue de Tervueren. Last Sunday was one of the special days of the Bruxelles tramway calendar – the reopening of their tram museum after the winter and a chance to take over the normal service on lines to Tervueren and Stokkel with around thirty of the museum’s historic trams. Here, just some of the participants are line up, ready to begin the afternoon service.

TB Standard #1511

18 december 2010 - Tucson (USA), zajezdnia.

TB Standard #5368

7 february 2011 - Bruksela, Rue de l'Association. Takie ciekawostki można znaleźć na pierwszym piętrze tutejszego muzeum zabawek :)

TB Standard #1609

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Montgomery - Avenue de Tervuren. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. #1609 and trailer #604 load for another trip to Tervuren. As this was also a 'car-free' day in Bruxelles city, a two-minute serve was offered on Line 44 throughout the afternoon. STIB must have very strong power supplies - in some parts of TS in Silesia, the tram almost stops when just one other is travelling in the same section!

TB Standard #1064

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Rue de Doc. Bruxelles Standard car 1064 and matching trailer 102 cross Avenue de Broqueville to reach the Montgomery surface turning loop. This track avoids the subway at Montgomery (used by normal service trams on Lines 39 and 44) and provides a connection to the rest of the network.

TB Standard #55

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. More of the STIB museum trams in Woluwe depot. As several trams were out in special service for the UITP anniversary celebrations, there was room to take pictures of trams which would normally be lined up very close together. #55 is a Bruxelles Standard car, later used as a snowplough, #9098 is a little 2-axle car of 1960 with a PCC-style body and #1505, which was converted to a one-man car in 1967, although the design originally dates back to 1935.

TB Standard #46

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. STIB has a quite amazing number of operational museum trams, as well as those in the adjoining museum. Here, works car conversion #46 (ex-1205) stands with Bruxelles Standard tams 1002, 1259 and 1064 and PCC 7065.

TB Standard #46

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. The earlier generation of Bruxelles works cars, converted from ‘Standard’ class trams of the 1930s, have now nearly all been replaced by motor transport or by converted PCCs. Car 46, show here, is now just a museum exhibit.

TB Standard #31

8 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Haren. This must be the last active Bruxelles ‘Standard’ tram from the 1300/1400 series, converted to a works car many years ago. There were once many of these, but now they are almost all gone.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Flagey. Another view of #4052, showing the door arrangements. From this angle, you can see the two old-fashioned, four-wheel trucks that were used as a basis. It looks very much like a PCC, but isn’t!

STIB 4000 Series #4032

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Place Royale. The museum ‘two-rooms-and-a-bath’ articulated car on a gloomy day near the Royal Palace. These trams were built by STIB in 1965 with new bodies resembling PCCs, but with mechanical and electrical parts from two much older ‘Standard’ cars.

TB Standard #1064

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Ban Eik. STIB museum car #1064 at the end of the line. This track was once an electric railway and continued, behind the tram, to Terveuren, where tram line 44 now terminates. Now it’s a high speed tramway.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Francois Gay. The 9000 series were built on old ‘standard’4-wheel tram chassis to resemble the first Belgian PCC cars (which they weren’t).

STIB 9000 Series #9079

28 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue du Doc. A nice 9000 series car from the Bruxelles Transport Museum eases through the sharp corners on the way to Montgomery. We can thank the local people living in this street for the decision to soon remove all the original Bruxelles 7000 series PCC cars from their two remaining routes – residents don’t like the noise the wheels make round these corners. I hope they liked the nice big squeals made by this 4-wheeler…….

TB Standard #1064

28 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Jan-Baptiste. This was the standard Bruxelles tram type until PPC cars arrived in the 1950s and was later used as a works car. It has been retained by the Transport Museum and nicely restored.
