29 september 2018 - Detroit (USA), Woodward Avenue. Tramwaj ruszył z przystanku końcowego i udaje się do centrum. Ostatnie trzy przystanki na trasie zlokalizowane są na środku ulicy, pomiędzy torami, podczas gdy na reszcie trasy tramwaj jedzie wzdłuż krawędzi jezdni.

29 september 2018 - Detroit (USA), Woodward Avenue. Linia tramwajowa w Detroit liczy 5,5 kilometra i wiedzie cały czas prosto główną ulicą miasta. Jedynie na długości trzech przystanków (1,5 km) rozwieszona jest sieć trakcyjna. Pozostałe odcinki tramwaje przejeżdżają korzystając z baterii.

Nadziemna linia powstała w połowie lat 80., jako jeden z kilku takich eksperymentalnych systemów ufundowanych przez władze federalne (pozostałe to Miami, Morgantown i Jacksonville. Każdy z nich wykorzystuje nieco inną technologię - tu mamy klasyczne szyny oraz wagony z Kanady, identyczne z kursującymi na sieciach metra w Vancouver i Toronto (linia 3).

It`s of two locations where you can cross the Canadian-US border on a scheduled, standard city bus (the other one is Sault St. Marie in northern Michigan/northwestern Ontario)

1 april 2018 - Detroit, Woodward Ave. It`s not a late April Fools` Day joke - some time ago the city of Detroit decided to build a streetcar line, despite its notorious issues with budget deficit, crime, and deteriorating infrastructure. While much of the $150m investment was paid for by private sponsors, the taxpayers still had to cover around 25% of the bill. The QLine carries typical characteristics of other recently built U.S. streetcar systems - it has very little significance for the overall metropolitan transportation system, it is poorly integrated with other public transport services, and the entire route is duplicated with more functional bus routes...
