5 march 2010 - Crawley, Southgate Avenue. We waited with Dave for three buses at this spot - only ONE of them used the bus lane at all. What for anyway? The bus lane is 100m long, so most of the day the buses don't really need to slow down to 10km/h to get into the guided portion, whereas the traffic jams caused by halving the road capacity at this sport cause the buses to actually run slower in the peak than before.

5 march 2010 - Crawley, London Road / Crawley Avenue. Dave Vigar's local area is inhabited by this silly example for how rubbish Bus Rapid Transit can be. On the 10km-long route 10 (Gatwick Airport - Bewbush via Crawley) there is a total of 200m of guided bus lanes (two sections ca. 100m each) - which buses don't generally tend to use. Also, one of the streets leading to Bewbush has been designated as bus only (read: the bus was artificially made faster), and one of the roundabouts on the northern by-pass was modified like so. The effect of this is that buses have to stand twice at a red light (before the roundabout and here), unlike other vehicles, which only need to stop once. All works were financed by the local council.

Akurat na buspasie na Trasie Łazienkowskiej dopuszczenie prywatnych autobusów i mikrobusów do przewozu osób niepełnosprawnych nie zablokowałoby ruchu dla autobusów miejskich. Tymczasem, jak oszacowało Życie Warszawy, niedawne dopuszczenie na buspasie ruchu taksówek licencjonowanych kosztowało ok. 100 tys. zł - tyle wydano na nowy projekt organizacji ruchu, zmianę oznakowania oraz analizy ruchu.
