31 january 2011 - Wrocław, Wyszyńskiego street. Funniest IMHO bus in the city is just passing by my house.

9 september 2010 - Las Vegas, over West Harmon Avenue. Interior view of cable-pulled vehicle. It's not incandescent white balance, but blue windows.

ATM serie 1500 "Peter Witt" #1811

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, The Embarcadero. Peter Witt inside. This is 10.31 - during rush hour streetcars fill with tourists and, surprisingly, with San-Franciscans.

20 july 2010 - Williamsburg, Virgina, Williamsburg Transportation Center. Greyhound bus bound to Richmond is standing in front of nice, air-conditioned railway and bus station. I always found quite fonny the fact that these buses' doors open like in Autosan H9, although they are pneumatically powered.
More information about Williamsburg Transportation Center and the bus behind this is under this photo.

20 july 2010 - Williamsburg, Virginia, Williamsburg Transportation Center. It's the heart of public transportation in this city - here are Amtrak and Greyhound stations, here is taxi stand and main hub of city's buses, where eight Williamsburg bus lines ride from every hour or half an hour, except nights. This bus comes from neighbor city Newport News on express line four times a day.

8 september 2010 - Las Vegas, Paradise Road. Monorail train approaches giant concrete junction, which will soon direct it onto second track.

Bombardier MVI

9 september 2010 - Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas Monorail Station. Upskirt view of monorail train - we see why it doesn't fall from the rail.

OCC Peter Witt #952

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, The Embarcadero. Streetcar named desire, which came from New Orleans in 1998, passes by Ferry Building. Peter Witt is really interesting vehicle: wooden body, simple electricity, two bogies, pneumatic doors and pneumatic brakes.

11 september 2010 - Bottom of the San Francisco Bay, in the tunnel between San Francisco and Oakland. BART is really non-typical underground railway system, because of unusual shape of network and rolling stock - wide-track cars, equipped with wide seats, carpets on the floors and two pairs of doors per car, are more regional than subway trains.

PCC #1010

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, Market Street, California Drumm stop. At the bus and streetcar stop, equipped with an anti-bay, a PCC streetcar, serving this city since novelty, has just stopped together with a Czech trolleybus and some SUV. Behind the streetcar an entrance into a two-level subway can be seen, and there is also a cable car behind the trees.

18 september 2010 - New York, Canal Street station. An interior view of one of the newest subway trains in the NYC. The subway is dirty and a little bit spooky, but I like it anyway because of mad maze of underground hallways, crazy, multi-level stations with crossing tracks and awesome station announcements. Right before the station a calm, female voice informs passengers about station name, available changes and next stop. And right before door closure another voice - male and probably belonging to some US Army sergeant - yells at the whole car: "STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS, PLEASE!!!"

MCI 4500 #6476

14 september 2010 - Los Angeles, behind the Union Station. LAX airport bus, ticket price: $7, paid by cash or credit/debit card, approaches big rail/metrorail/bus terminal at the railway station.

NABI 436.08 #534

8 september 2010 - Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport. A bus stop is hidden under multi-level parking lot. Buses from airport are only for the chosen ones, because there are no signs leading to them. Instead, there are lots of signs leading to taxi rank and car rental. This is just American.

Bombardier Innovia APM 100

9 september 2010 - Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport. Automatic rubber-tyred people mover carries passengers of planes arriving at D gates. Half of the track length is hidden underneath surface, which is necessary, because concourse D is standing in the middle of tarmac. These trains are the only connection between concourse D and main airport building, where the baggage carousels are.

Mandalay Bay Tram #3

8 september 2010 - Las Vegas, West Harmon Avenue overpass. This strange cable-pulled train connects several hotels/casinos (in LV hotel without casino is very rare) and shopping mall. The ride is for free, because everyone wants you to spend or lose your money at his business.

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, The Embarcadero. A tram under palms. I dedicate this photo to my friend Tomek Paszko, who is a great fan of exotic botanical motives on transport photos.

7 september 2010 - Miami, Earlington Heights station, a bus-rail transfer point. Miami Metrorail train approaches an elevated station over a crowded freeway. I know this photo is not perfect, I upload it only because there are no photos from Miami on this photogallery.

19 september 2010 - Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, New Jersey. It's one of three NYs airports, and it's distance from Manhatan is similar that in the case of JFK. It's also well connected with the city by New Jersey Transit trains.
I took this photo while waiting for a Lufthansa plane to Düsseldorf (my ticket said it would be Airbus A330-300 - it was A340-300, almost the same, it only had four smaller engines instead of two bigger ones).

16 september 2010 - Chicago, East Jackson Boulevard x South Wabash Avenue. During a 3-hour stopover in Chicago (due to train change - from LA to NY) I took a walk to the lake shore and back. The city appeared to me as really dark and gloomy, probably due to narrow streets surrounded by tall buildings and dark streets hidden underneath elevated rail. Probably this is why last Batman movies have been recorded here.

IC CE200

23 july 2010 - Williamsburg, Virginia, Capitol Landing Road. An employee bus, same type that famous American school buses, carries students from several countries to work in Busch Gardens amusement park. This vehicle is air-conditioned, 40 feet long, 6 feet high inside, and seat pitch is even smaller than onboard Ryanair planes. It's very good to carry children, but much worse to carry me (6'9").

Hess BGH-N2C / Wright Streetcar RTV #030

9 september 2010 - Las Vegas, Las Vegas Blvd (The Strip). Ace Gold Line bus, followed by The Deuce bus, approaches bus stop near The Crystals shopping mall. In the back we can see an Eiffel Tower half-size copy (I suppose it would be full size, if airport approach corridor didn't force the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino to build it smaller).

Siemens SD-460 #201

14 september 2010 - Los Angeles, Santa Ana Freeway overpass. There is a Gold Line tram in the distance. It's actually the city center of LA and now I understand, how is it possible to sacrifice 70% of city space for transportation only - parking lots are everywhere. In the right bottom corner of the picture a freeway entrance with car counting signal can be seen. It turns red, when the freeway is full, so traffic jam starts in front of the freeway, instead of on it.

14 september 2010 - Somewhere between Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Interior view of an LA articulated bus. Seats in the front are actually inside articulation.

NABI 60-BRT #9373

13 september 2010 - Santa Monica, Ocean Ave. Two CNG-powered buses are standing at the Pacific coast before coming back to LA. Los Angeles has got 390 of these buses. The ones running on rapid lines are painted in red, the ones on local lines - in orange. This blue car is an ambulance.

Mercedes-Benz O530GL BRT #2007-0828

14 august 2009 - Istanbul, O-1 Çevre Yolu. Mercedeses CapaCity are approaching Şehitlik. They come in groups up to 20 Metrobuses (because of 200m length of bus stops), and they are separated by free space equiv of three-minute waiting.

Breda LRV2 #1441

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, Embarcadero station. Underneath the platform is one more level, and BART trains are stopping down there. Over this station is Market Street, with PCC streetcars, trolleybuses and buses.

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, 4th Street Bridge. There are more streetcar-related attractions in the SF than cable cars climbing up the hills and PCC on Market Street. This is one of Breda streetcars, which hide under the ground in the city centre. It's passing through draw bridge built in 1917, renovated in 2006.

MUNI Powell Street #10

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, Powell Street & California Street. A cable car full of tourists is moving towards Market Street turntable. These cars are very popular among tourists, but probably not among San Frasciscans, because their maximum speed is 15 km/h, and lines of people going to take a ride are (except early morning hours) REALLY long.

Škoda/ETI 14TrSF #5626

11 september 2010 - San Francisco, Sacramento St. x Jones St. Škoda trolleybus on line 1 is standing right in front of hill top, after climbing up one of the steepest streets I've seen in SF.

St. Louis PCC II #2327

13 june 2010 - Philadelphia, Girard Ave. A PCC trolley on line 15 approaches crossing with Lancaster Ave. It's got AC motors and air conditioning, which I really liked, because it was over 30°C. I've seen the female black driver of this vehicle unleashing her tongue on teenager, who wanted to take a ride for free - unforgetable.
I'd advise everyone visiting Philly to take a ride on 15 in bigger group. I'd probably thought, that it's the worst part of the city, if I didn't go through some place, which looked like taken from the movie "8. Mile": windows blinded with wooden boards, rubbish on streets, old, rusty cars standing near sidewalks and black guys inside listening to the gangsta rap...
