17 september 1986 - Douglas, Isle of Man – Port Jack. Taken immediately after http://www.phototrans.eu/14,239248,0.html, this photo will scare any Health and Safety Inspector! The conductor is working in traditional Manx Electric fashion - he has just stepped out of the motor car to collect fares and issue tickets on the trailer, moving along the footboards and holding on with his free hand, whilst the trams are moving at up to 40km/hour. Scary, when the trams are lurching and swaying in different directions – note how close the buildings are to the track! Small boys often search along the track for dropped coins (and pieces of conductor?).
