Torino (IT) – Sassi, Coriolano Capolinea. At the terminal loop near the start of the Sassi-Superga rack tramway, here is a quite fabulous Peter Witt tram of 1934, part of the Torino historic collection. Although invented in America, this type of passenger-flow tram was adopted by some Italian cities and many remain in use here in Torino (although heavily rebuilt) and in Milano.

Was is a kind of competitor for PCC tram? Is original electric part maintained still in these vehicles?

A little earlier than the PCC design. The Milano cars (mostly from 1928) are still in original form but modernised with radio, better brakes, stronger motors, etc. but still look very traditional. In Torino, they were rebuilt in pairs on new bodies to form one new tram.
