3 october 2008 - Resita (RO) – depou/zajezdnia. Another tramway under threat of closure. The single route in this industrial city in western Romania is owned by the company that also runs the buses, the steel works, the hotel and almost everything in town, and they say that people want buses instead of trams. This was one of the new 1980s tramways built by the Ceausescu regime and, like most of them, was just laid in the main street, linking housing to factories on the edge of town. The original Romanian Timis cars were replaced by (older) Duewags from Dortmund and Frankfurt a few years ago, but everything is now beginning to wear out. Car #13 is an ex-Dortmund GT8 from 1974.
