Other Information		Arriva North East`s history can be traced back to the 1980s when United Automobile Services was split in two. The northern part of United (Northumbria) was sold in a management buyout and the company traded as Northumbria Motor Services. In 1994 the company was sold to British Bus. Cowie Group bought British Bus in 1996, which brought the two operations of United back to the same owner. In 1997 the companies were renamed Arriva North East, Arriva Northumbria, Arriva Tees & District, Arriva Teesside and Arriva Durham County. The operations of the companies have been merged into Arriva North East.
