19 may 2005 - Zwickau, Aeussere Schneeberger Strasse. A few seconds later, tram 907 passes along the same track in the other direction – the diesel railcar is now safely tucked away in the standard-gauge platform until its next scheduled departure to the Czech border town of Kraslice.

19 may 2005 - Zwickau – Haltestelle Zentrum. As the main railway station is some distance from the city centre, Zwickau was one of the first places to adopt the now-fashionable ‘tram-train’ concept. Vogtlandbahn RegioSprinter VT 35 waits at the single, standard gauge terminal track, right in the middle of Zwickau’s commercial centre, whilst metre-gauge city trams serve the other side of the island platform – true transport integration.

19 may 2005 - Zwickau – Stadthalle. Zwickau in Saxony was once the home of the celebrated Trabant motor car. The progressive tramway system here was rather overlooked in TWB until now. AEG metre-gauge tram 906 waits to leave Stadthalle with a Line 8 service. Buses use the other face of the island platform, so commuters don’t need to get wet. The network has since been extended from here to a new terminus, further out in the suburbs, and Line 8 no longer exists.

7 april 2001 - Zwickau, Äußeren Schneeberger Straße. Na trasie do Gluck-Auf-Center (Centrum Handlowe Szczęść Boże) trójka dzieli torowisko z linią kolejową doprowadzoną praktycznie do samego Starego Miasta (Zwickau-Zentrum). Ciekawy jest widok gdy jadąc GT6M mijamy się z RegioSprinterem.

Nie wiem nawet, jak przy takiej mgle mój biało-niebieski stateczek powietrzny z harfą na ogonie wylądował w ogóle na Schönefeldzie, ale pilotowi jestem wdzięczny :) Nigdy jeszcze nie miałem przyjemności focić tak malowniczych miejsc w tak parszywą pogodę.
