Braine-le-Comte bogie tram #9985
9 june 2009 - De Panne (BE) – Sint Idesbald. Look closely – this is a hotel! Someone decided to build this place as a copy of the famous ocean liner ‘Normandy’. What a crazy thing! The tram is much more serious, of course, a very nice 1930s motor car and 1950s trailer, both of which ran on this line for many years and which are now part of the de Lijn historic fleet. Several more old trams are now being renovated, ready for the 2010 centenary.

9 june 2009 - Oostende/Ostend (BE) – Raversijde. I was pleased to get this shot of a historic tram and trailer at one of the few places where the tramway actually runs alongside the North Sea - most of the line is on reserved track, but slightly inland. The motor car is a ‘Standard’ SNCV/NMBS type of the 1930s.
