3 october 2008 - Resita (RO) – Nera. This bridge carries the main road and its tramline over various railway sidings and a river. If the heavy industry was removed, this would be quite a pleasant city. Virtually everything here is owned and run by Prescom – the steelworks, hotel, buses and many restaurants, shops and offices – a true ‘company town’. I don’t think they have wanted the trams for some years, and an electrical substation fire last year probably gave them the excuse they needed to abolish the whole system.
